Chilling Reign pack art revealed! Officially announced

Chilling Reign Revealed

The next English Pokemon TCG set has been officially revealed in the form of Chilling Reign, releasing 18 June 2021.

We had previously reported the first picture of the set’s title and now have official pack art showcasing Calyrex in multiple forms as well as the three legendary birds in their Galarian forms. What’s interesting about these pack arts is the addition of an extra art, bringing the total to 5 booster pack variations for the first time since Sun & Moon Base Set.

This set will be based off of the recently released Japanese set Matchless Fighters as well as upcoming Silver Lance and Jet Black Spirit. Matchless Fighters includes alternate art secret rares of the three legendary birds which will be highly sought-after once released in Chilling Reign.

The Pokemon Company have announced that the set will include:

  • Over 190 cards
  • Dozens of Pokémon originally discovered in the Galar region
  • 15 powerful Pokémon V and 8 enormous Pokémon VMAX
  • New Single Strike and Rapid Strike cards
  • More than 25 Trainer cards and 3 new Special Energy cards

The official Pokemon statement for the Chilling Reign reveal states as followed,

“Seize the advantage with Pokémon of the frozen lands, including the powerful Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX and Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX—plus the Galarian forms of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres—in Sword & Shield—Chilling Reign! Phantom hauntings, howling blizzards, and wild battles—expand the realms of your Pokémon strategy with new powers and new possibilities. Press on despite ghostly opposition, and claim total victory in the land of spectral snow with the Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield—Chilling Reign expansion!”
