DBS CG – What we know about UW5 and UW6

It’s hard to believe that Bandai has already announced the UW6 set, even though UW5, which will follow the DBS CG Supreme Rivalry booster, was only revealed last month. So what do we know about the two sets that will see us through to next year?

Unison Warrior Series Set 5

UW5, which is rumoured to be called ‘Cross Spirits’, first showed up on the Asia version of the DBS CG official website on March 25th and was later added to other countries. This set is scheduled for a July release, although looking back at the delays caused by the pandemic in the past 12 months, it could be pushed back to August at the latest.

The Unison Warrior Series set 5 [DBS-B14] will focus on moments in the Dragon Ball series where characters absorbed, gathered or gave their Ki to defeat evil. With this theme comes a brand new skill called ‘Spirit Boost’, which brings a whole new dynamic to the DBS CG. Also, player’s will experience Unison Cards like never before, with brand new mechanics that could quite literally be a game-changer.

This set is made up of 292 cards – 60 Commons, 38 Uncommons, 30 Rares, 23 Super Rares (SR), 10 Special Rares (SPR) and 3 Secret Rares (SCR), which is the same proportions as the other Unison Warrior booster sets.

Unison Warrior Series Set 6

With a November release date, just in time for Christmas, UW6 [DBS-B15] appears to be the last booster of 2021. The name of this set hasn’t been released yet, although there is quite a lot of information that has come out about this set.

In UW6, Saiyan warriors, good and evil, will be pitted against each other. This means that Goku, Gohan and Goten will go fist-to-fist with villains like Broly, Turles and Vegeta. These Saiyan cards are designed to strengthen former deck archetypes, as well as introduce iconic themes that will welcome newcomers who will instantly recognise matchups from the Dragon Ball Z series.

All 7 Xeno Shadow Dragon will arrive with UW6, including three Xeno versions of Omega Shenron, Nuova Shenron and Rage Shenron. This, combined with the Shadow Dragons coming with UW5, means that you can create the ultimate Xeno Shadow Dragon deck.

Due to popular demand, box toppers return! Each booster box will come with a random SR or SPR, which definitely sweetens the deal when buying in bulk and adds additional value when buying at RRP. Also, to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of the DBS CG, UW6 will be the first set that gets 4 SCRs instead of the regular 3.

The Unison Warrior Series Set 6 will include 292 cards – 60 Commons, 38 Uncommons, 30 Rares, 23 Super Rares, 9 Special Rares (SPR) and as previously mentioned, 4 Secret Rares SCR.

Before UW5 and UW6 are released, fans have the DBS CG Supreme Rivalry booster set to look forward to, which releases on May 31st. To learn about some of the best cards you can pull from this set, check out our article – The SPRs of Supreme Rivalry
