We all love the Digimon Card Game, but let’s face it, having to continuously play cards can reak havoc on the wrists. Well, it seems Bandai is taking our beloved card game to the next level by removing the need to manually Digivolve your cards!
With the brand new 3D Motion Holo cards, revealed by our trusty Bandai Leak ‘Loof Lirpa’, we can confirm that BT10 will see a new era of the Digimon Card Game arrive. With just a flick of the wrist, your Digimon will Digivolve right in front of your eyes! This will mean that deck sizes will be significantly reduced and relying on luck to draw the right cards will be a thing of the past!
How will this type of card work? Well, it uses a special technology called lenticular printing. This method prints the different forms of a Digivolution at alternating strips on the plastic sheet. As the card is moved, the card will give off an optical illusion that the image has magically changed before your very eyes. Who needs the Digital World when you can have good old fashioned plastic optical illusions?

You may remember this technology from the collectable POGs and Tazos that were super popular in the 90s. With Digimon starting its humble beginning in the same era, it just makes sense for them to revisit this retro tech. Unfortunately, the only downside to these new cards is that once a Digimon Digivolves, players will have to move around the table together so they are seeing the same side of the 3D motion Holo. But on the bright side, what better way to make friends with your opponent than sitting right beside them?
