A new limited card set is coming to the Digimon Card Game, made up of six original Digimon promo cards and six alternate art Option cards. The Limited Card Set will arrive in the Japanese version of the Digimon TCG at the ‘Online Winter 2021’ event taking place at the Large Tamer Exchange, which kicks off today (December 7th). Each pack will cost 1,320 yen ($11) at the event and available at a later date to a wider audience.
Option Cards –
The Option cards of this set are all alternate arts, with artwork that is incredibly original for the Digimon Card Game. Usually, Option cards will include a Digimon pulling off one of their attacks, but those included in the New Limited Card Set look more like full art Digimon cards, although they do stick closely to the theme, characters and actions of the original artwork. Each of the Option cards pairs with one of the other alternate art Digimon cards of the set, which will make them look really nice when displayed together.
Digimon Cards –
The Digimon promo cards coming with the Limited Card Set all have Security effects. Although these types of cards haven’t entered the English version of the game yet, the Classic Collection, releasing later this month, will bring the first. These effects will make lower level Digimon more useful when they end up in the Security pile and offer new interesting strategies. Despite being completed by several artists, the art style of all cards are quite uniform and capture the personalities of each Digimon.
It is unknown when these cards will arrive in the English version of the Digimon Card Game, but they are likely to arrive in event packs or Tournament packs next year.
