Digimon Card Game – Next Adventure Delayed!

Throughout 2021, the Digimon Card Game was hit with a number of delays due to logistic issues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, it seems that those issues will continue into 2022, with the first booster of the year being delayed.

Bandai has announced on their social media pages that the next Adventure booster set will be postponed due to logistic issues. In the statement, they said that the delays are down to the logistical difficulties their global freight networks are having. As we saw quite a lot last year, the product will be pushed back by two weeks, giving the set a new pre-release date of February 25th, with it officially releasing a week later on March 4th.

What is Next Adventure?

Next Adventure will focus on the Digimon Frontier series which had a very short run, airing from 2002 to 2003. Although the series wasn’t around long, it did inject a number of original Digimon, interesting Tamers and a new evil in the form of Lucemon, who will be one of the two SEC characters in the Next Adventure booster set.

Digimon Card Game delayed

In total, there will be 120 card types to collect, made up of 44 Commons, 30 Uncommons, 26 Rares, 10 Super Rares, 2 Secret Rares and 8 Campaign Rare cards. The Campaign cards will have a focus on the Tamers of the Digimon Adventure series, with their Digimon companions appearing alongside them. The set will also include alternate art cards that will have a nice golden foiled design.

Although delays may annoy some people, others don’t seem to mind over on the official Digimon Card Game social media pages, as it gives them a longer break between sets. Do you think Bandai should slow down their releases so that the current format can be enjoyed for longer?
