The next set heading to the Japanese version of the Digimon Card Game will be Xros Encounter. This set will focus on the Xros Wars anime series, better known as Digimon Fusion in the West. Although many cards have already been revealed for this booster, the first alternate arts have begun popping up on social media, including a new Omnimon variation and a new ‘gold rare’ Alphamon which will be in the same league as Ghost Omnimon.
Last month, we got the news that a new incredibly rare Alphamon card would be included in Xros Encounter, similar to the Omnimon Ghost we saw in the Double Diamond booster. This time around, the artwork of the focus Digimon will be entirely foiled upon a black background. To date, Ghost Omnimon is the rarest booster card in the entire game, believed to have had a one in three carton chance of pulling, with the English counterpart having a similarly low pull rate. In fact, when Double Diamond was first released late last year, we reported sale prices of $1025,$1200 and $1694 for raw copies. Will the rarity and value be the same for the Gold Alphamon?
Xros Encounter will be the 10th main booster set of the Digimon card game and will focus on the Digimon Fusion series, which was known as Xros Wars in Japan. Not only will several Digimon make their debut for the first time, but the brand new DigiXros (fusion) mechanic will shake things up as an alternative way to get your strongest Digimon in play.
