Giga Green Starter Deck – Digimon TCG

Giga Green Starter Deck

With ‘Special Booster Ver.1.5’ releasing tomorrow (12 March 2021), we can begin thinking about the second wave of new Starter Decks coming to Digimon TCG and how those decks will help shape the future of the game. Giga Green, Machine Black and Venomous Violet will be the newest additions to the Starter Deck lineup, giving players the ideal foundation to build Green, Black and Purple decks, reinforced by the cards pulled from ‘Special Booster Ver. 1.0’ and ‘Special Booster Ver. 1.5’. This article takes a closer look specifically at Digimon TCG Giga Green Starter Deck.

Digimon Giga Green ST-4 Starter Deck

Fronted by the Izzy Tamer Card, the Giga Green Starter Deck will focus on some of the most popular bug and plant Digimon from the series. This deck will provide plenty of power as the Digimon go through their digivolution chain, gaining control abilities that hold your opponent back so you can swoop in and take the win.

HerculesKabuterimon ST4-13

[Piercing] When this Digimon attacks and deletes an opponent’s Digimon and survives the battle, it performs any security checks it normally would.) [Main] (Trash 2 of this Digimon’s Digivolution cards to activate the following effect) Suspend 1 of your opponent’s Digimon.

Not a Digimon name you would like to say three times fast, ‘HerculesKabuterimon’ has the ability to suspend one of your opponent’s Digimon but at a cost. First, you must trash two Digivolution cards from beneath it.

Kabuterimon ST4-08

 Kabuterimon ST4-08

[Blocker] (When an opponent’s Digimon attacks, you may suspend this Digimon to force the opponent to attack it instead.) [When Attacking] Lose 2 memory.

Although we have already seen ‘Tentomon’ and his Digivolution chain appear in Special Booster 1.0 and 1.5, in ‘Giga Green’, we will see them in ways like never before… literally. The set includes this ‘Kabuterimon’ seen working on his arms at the gym, while a ‘Tentomon’ stands far back. This card is a Blocker and has a lower play cost than the previous ‘Kabuterimon’, although it does lose 2 memory when attacking.

Rosemon ST4-12

[When Digivolving] 1 of your opponent’s Digimon can’t attack or block until the end of their next turn.

When Rosemon is played through digivolution, she has the ability to stop one of your opponent’s Digimon from attacking or blocking until your opponent’s next turn. This could be incredibly useful for buying time if your opponent has a powerful Digimon in the Battle Area.

Togemon  ST4-06

[When Attacking] If you attack an opponent’s Digimon, this Digimon gets +2000 DP for the turn.

When using ‘Togemon’ to Digivolve into a higher level card, the new Digimon will inherit the ability to power itself up by +2000 DP when attacking. This means that ‘HerculesKabuterimon’ or ‘Rosemon’ have the potential of being even more powerful when attacking an opponent’s Digimon.

Starter Deck Contents

Just like the first three starter decks, each of the new ones will consist of 54 cards, three of which will be Rare and one being a Super Rare. The deck will also come with a ‘Great Legend’ booster pack and two Memory Gauge cards to help players get stuck straight in.
