Throughout 2021, the Digimon TCG has suffered from delays brought on by distribution issues relating to the Covid-19 pandemic. This was seen with the Battle of Omni set back in July, as well as Starter Decks 4-6 and the Great legend Booster back in April. Now, we have two more delays hitting the TCG, including Double Diamond, which will be postponed in certain regions.
Starter Decks 7 Gallantmon and Starter Deck 8 UlforceVeedramon, which were originally slated for a September 30th release, have now been postponed to October 15th for Europe and Latin America. Those living in Oceania will have to wait until October 29th, with release in North America being pushed right back to Mid-November, with no set date as of yet.
The starter decks coming after two will be themed on Imperialdramon and Mastemon, continuing the focus on specific Digimon chains, rather than the Tamers. Another major change with ST7 & ST8 is the removal of booster packs and the inclusion of 6 Bonus cards, which will be part of the Digimon TCG 1st Anniversary. The next set in the Digimon TCG, the Double Diamond booster, has also been pushed back to October 15th, for October 8th, in Europe, Latin America and Oceania, with North America pulling the short straw again with a Mid-November release date. Bandai has issued an apology for the delays caused by the Pandemic and insist that they will get solid release dates for North America in October.
