Fantastic Digimon with disappointing Digivolutions

What makes the Digimon franchise unique to all other monster-themed manga and anime is that their lines of evolution are not set, like Pokemon, and can instead Digivolve into several different Digimon depending on their stats at the time. This of course opens up several exciting opportunities to unlock powerful and cool-looking forms, but on the other hand, can also result in utter disappointment.

Sistermon Blanc Digivolves to Damemon

Imagine being a trident-wielding nun one day and a silver crock pot the next? Of course, Sistermon Blanc has the chance of Digivolving into Sistermon Ciel or Sistermon Noir, but there is still a likelihood that Blanc will become Damemon. Its attacks don’t make things much better, as it uses foul smells and fires small smelly objects at the enemy. They say you can’t polish a turd, but Damemon is the exception to that phrase.

Kumamon + Korikakumon Digivolves into Daipenmon

While Kumamon is a (literal) cool-looking bear, and Korikakumon resembles a yeti swinging two large axes, the fusion Digivolution they can achieve is something of a letdown, to put it lightly. Daipenmon looks more like a miserable employee at an ice cream stand, rather than a Mega form Digimon.

Gatomon Digivolves into Betsumon

For those of you who visit different cons, you know you can come across some strange or unsettling cosplays. A Digimon who embodies this in an anime form is the grinning Betsumon. This Digimon appears to be a digital monster wearing a Gatomon suit, but the disturbing thing is, however, it is actually Gatomon that can Digivolve into Betsumon. For Tamers hoping to get an Angewomon, they could be in for a very nasty shock!

Agumon Digivolves into Sukamon

The original Digimon anime series would have been a lot different if Agumon Digivolved into Sukamon, instead of Greymon, in his fight against Shellmon. With that being said, maybe a strategically flung Poop Blast would have had the giant Digimon crawling into the ocean a lot earlier into the fight.

Impmon Digivolves into Nanimon

Fans of the Digimon franchise will remember Impmon as the little misunderstood Digimon who discovers friendship trumps all. Because of this, he warp Digivolves into the incredibly cool Beelzemon, who has several cards within the Digimon Card Game. It is probably a very good thing that Impmon Digivolved this way in the series, or else he could have ended up as one of his possible champion forms, Nanimon. This Digimon is definitely one of the weirdest in the franchise and is based on the Oyajitchi creature from Tamagotchi.
