The next set in the FF TCG, Opus XIV: Crystal Abyss, will arrive on August 6th. As is the standard practice in many TCGs, the Pre-Release period will begin the week running up to the launch.
With the Pre-Release period for Opus XIV: Crystal Abyss beginning on July 31st, Square Enix has revealed the contents of the Crystal Abyss Pre-Release Kit, which includes a full art card and a set of premium deck protectors.

The Pre-Release kit will include nine packs of Opus XIV: Crystal Abyss booster packs, which should be more than enough to whet fans’ appetites until booster boxes are on the shelves. A full art promo card of ‘Tifa [PR-097/14-120H]’ will be included in the kit, which will be stamped with the ‘Pre-Release’ gold text.

Those receiving Pre-Release kits will get 60 exclusive deck protector sleeves that are also stamped with gold text. The sleeve artwork shows Omega in the midst of battle, which Final Fantasy legend Toshitaka Matsuda has illustrated. This artwork will also appear in card form within the Crystal Abyss booster set. Opus XIV will bring brand new Multi-Element Forwards to the game, including never-before-seen element combos. Also, with the debut of cards based on the tactical mobile RPG ‘War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius’, new characters will enter the FF TCG.
Crystal Abyss will be the last FF TCG set that will have an Opus number printed on its box art. If you would like to learn more about the future set, check out our article – FF TCG set reveal: Crystal Dominion.
