‘Ghost’ Omnimon, also known as Omnimon Parallel, has been making waves within the Digimon TCG over the last five months, following the initial release of the Japanese version in May and the recent English release on October 15th. The reason there is so much buzz around this Double Diamond booster card is down to its incredible rarity, which is believed to be a one in three carton pull rate.
‘Ghost’ Omnimon is the first of its kind within the Digimon TCG. It is an alt art version with the exact artwork of the standard Omnimon BT1-084 card that came with the Special Booster 1.0, only with most of its colour drained. This card has been released as part of the 1st anniversary celebrations of the Digimon TCG, which is why Bandai have made it so difficult to pull from a pack.
In our pre-release value report for ‘Ghost’ Omnimon, we established the card had a potential value between $1000 and $1500, but we didn’t have enough sales data to share a more accurate value. Over the weekend, however, we got our first recorded sales on eBay which will help establish its current value.
On October 16th, a copy of ‘Ghost’ Omnimon sold for $1925 after 16 bids. On October 17th, another copy sold for $1,172 after 46 bids. Although these prices greatly differ, it does support the notion that it is worth at least $1400. This value is backed up by a copy of ‘Ghost’ Omnimon that sold at auction on October 18th for $1399. After speaking with the seller of another copy that was recently sold with an accepted offer, we can confirm that the card went for $1381, further supporting this initial value.
The Double Diamond booster is still in the early days of its release, which means its value may change as the market stabilises further. To keep up to date with any changes, as well as other market analysis articles, make sure to follow Ludkins Media on Instagram or Facebook.
