Logan Paul Spends $2 million on Pokémon – Announces First Edition Booster Box Break

Logan Paul Pokemon 2021

Logan Paul has purchased $2 million worth of First Edition Base Set Booster Boxes and announced another Pokémon First Edition Base Set Booster Box break on 27 February 2021 for Pokémon day.

The YouTuber and social media influencer had hinted at the “largest Pokémon purchase” of his life this week on Twitter. Goldin Auctions have uploaded information surrounding his upcoming box break.

36 booster packs will be auctioned off with the auction ending on 11 February 2021. Along with your pack, winning bidders will be gifted a Holographic “1st Break” Logan Paul Trading Card NFT (digital collectible) to be created and distributed in our partnership with BONDLY.

Logan Paul Pokemon

This isn’t the first time Logan Paul has made a big move within the Pokémon TCG hobby. In October 2020, he purchased a First Edition Booster Box at auction for $200,000. That box was then opened on his YouTube channel with packs selling for $11,111 – the video currently has over 11 million views.

After his purchase in October, the Pokémon TCG market exploded with newcomers to the hobby and scalpers looking to make a quick buck. This saw the rise of prices across the landscape, most notably any card related to base set skyrocketed.

Logan then went on to purchase a First Edition Base Set PSA 10 Charizard from Gary “King Pokémon” further emphasising his position as a Pokémon investor. Some may find this news surprising after his comment to leave the hobby towards the end of last year but he has continued to vocalise his love for Pokémon, even getting a Squirtle tattoo on his leg.

Whether you like him or not, this purchase will have massive ramifications on the next year of Pokémon and beyond. The scope of Logan’s following creates mainstream media attention and this time casual onlookers will notice that Pokémon TCG wasn’t just an influencer fad from 2020.
