Mythic Booster Reprints + What’s Next For The DBS CG?

Last month, the Mythic Booster was announced. This set promised a number of reprints of popular, often hard to get cards so that players and collectors can get their own copies. Most importantly, this will make the battlefield a little more even when it comes to competitive play. In this article, we will go over the confirmed reprints of this set and the reasons why Bandai may have chosen these particular cards.

We are yet to see the full card list for the Mythic Booster set and all of its new illustrations. We do, however, have several reveals which will give you an idea of how these cards will look.

Many of the cards chosen for reprints are Championship promos that have either become difficult to source or were part of the 2020 Championship campaign, which got a low distribution due to the restrictions and cancellations brought on by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

New art –

Miracle Strike Gogeta

The Mythic Booster will be a full set of reprints, made up of 63 cards in total, including 2 SCRs. It is believed that the set will include three different styles –  non-foils with their original art, foil versions with original art and alt arts with foil. Each booster box will have the standard 24 packs, but each booster pack will only have 8 cards in them, with some of them having gold stamp foiling.

What else is coming to the DBS CG –

In November, the Saiyan Showdown booster will arrive in the Dragon Ball Super CG. This will pit Saiyans from all universes against each other. To learn more about this set, head over to our article here

In December, a gift collection will release around the same time as the Mythic Booster. This will include 4 booster packs, a deck box and sleeves.

In February 2022, the next set after Saiyan Showdown will release. Although Unison Warrior series 7 (BT16) doesn’t have a name yet, the theme is believed to be about the Gods, Angels and Destroyers of the Dragon Ball Super series. Interestingly, a new type of rare will be introduced, called the ‘Campaign Rare’.

In April 2022, the second Collector’s Selection will release. Once again, these will be reprints of fan and designer favourite cards. To learn more about this collection, check out our article here. If you would like to take a look at the first Collector’s Selection, click here

In April 2022, a new ‘Ultimate’ deck will be introduced into the Dragon Ball Super CG, giving android cards support. The silhouette on the box looks to be Cell, which could point to green Android/Cell decks getting support. A booster pack of BT16 will also be included, much like the Ultimate Life Form expert deck, which was also based around Cell.

The Mythic booster will arrive just in time for the holidays, but with no set date given. To keep up to date with all the latest details for this fantastic reprint set, as well as more artwork reveals, make sure you follow Ludkins Media on Instagram and Facebook.
