The Digimon Card Game is always welcoming new Digimon to fill out its variety of Digital Monsters. With the release of the Next Adventure set, which hit stores on March 4th, fans have been able to get their hands on debuting Digimon from the Frontier series. In this article, we share our favourite newcomers to the English version of the TCG.

Old school fans of Digimon will know who Whamon is but are you familiar with KingWhamon, the next powerful Digivolution? The scale of KingWhamon is gigantic and is definitely not a Digimon you would want to accidentally camp on top of – that is unless you don’t mind being dragged down into the depths!
Although there are several cards in the Next Adventure set with some fantastic artwork, one of my favourites is this AvengeKidmon, which shows the cowboy-themed Digimon stepping out of the card to reach his prey. This new Digimon will provide support for the Three Musketeer archetype introduced in the Great Legend booster.
Susanoomon will be one of the two SECs coming with the Next Adventure set. It is Sasasi who has been tasked with creating the alt art version of this card, making this hybrid Digimon appear righteous and godly. As Next Adventure will focus on the hybrid Digimon of the Frontier series, It is only fitting that Susoonamon enters the game with this set.
NewPulsemon Lines – Boutmon, Rasenmon and Kazuchimon
Last year, Pulsemon was created as a way to promote the release of the Vital Bracelet, with Bandai wasting no time in introducing him to the Digimon Card Game within Japanese promo cards. Although we got the first Pulsemon booster cards with the Double Diamond set, Boutmon, Rasenmon and Kazuchimon will make their debut with Next Adventure.
The first Boutmon and Rasenmon cards show the fitness-obsessed Digimon in their fighting stances, while the alternate artwork for Kazuchimon shows the thunder wielding shaman looking more like a Samarai. These Digimon haven’t been in the franchise very long, so it’s really nice to see them introduced into the Card Game already.
DarkKnightmon made its debut in the Digimon Xros Wars anime back in 2011 and will enter the Digimon Card Game with Next Adventure. The artwork of this card shows the Digimon in an apocalyptic looking scene coming out on top after a battle.
I really love the nightmarish fairytale style artwork for Eyesmon’s debuting card. This Digimon is another that is brand new to the franchise, first appearing in episode 16 of the Digimon Adventure 2020 anime series.
Dorumon is a prototype Digimon who is carrying the X-Antibody vaccine that makes Digimon immune to the X-Program. Digimon who carry this trait are often more powerful Digimon and will be the focus of the upcoming EX-02 set, Digital Hazard. It’s always nice to see new Rookies enter the game and Dorumon seems like one of the best we’ve seen in a while.
Mamemon is an unusual Digimon that has been around since the very start of the franchise, in fact, it happens to be the first Digimon that illustrator Koki drew when he was just a kid. Well, to continue this orb-like trend in Digimon design, MameTyramon will enter the game with Next Adventure. This Digimon also carries the X-Antibody vaccine and is built up of the condensed data of Tyrannomon – a pocket-size version, if you will!
Although plenty of new faces have entered the Digimon Card game, the set has also introduced some new variations of old favourites. These include the Campaign cards that will have a focus on the Tamers of the Digimon Adventure series, with their Digimon companions appearing alongside them. Next Adventure also includes alternate art cards that will have a nice golden foiled design. If you would like to learn more about these cards, click here.
