Pokemon GO Pikachu promo card now available at selected stores

The Pokemon GO expansion booster begins its first wave of releases tomorrow. To celebrate, a special Pokemon GO Pikachu promo is now being given out at Barnes & Noble and GameStop for the US, and Toys R Us, London Drugs, Mastermind Toys, Indigo Books and GameStop for those living in Canada.

This promo card is special as it shows a Pikachu sporting a Pokemon TCG cap, as it appears in the recent Pokemon GO crossover event that started on June 16th and ends today (June 30th). There will be other fantastic card arts paying homage to the widely popular AR game in the Pokemon GO booster, including Mewtwo showing up in a raid, a Snorlax blocking someone’s door, a Blissey hanging out at a Gym and a Lapris taking a swim in a pond, just to name a few. If you would like to check out the entire card list for this set, click here. The Pokemon GO expansion set will come with several boxed products that collectors will be keen to get their hands on. Those living outside of the US and Canada won’t have to worry about potentially missing out on this promo, as this card has the exact same foiling as the one coming with the Pokemon GO expansion booster. In fact, many may choose to skip getting this promo card from a store if they are planning on buying booster boxes or collecting the entire set. This card seems to act as an advertisement for casual collectors who could be tempted to buy more boosters after receiving everyone’s favourite mascot!
