Pokemon TCG: Brilliant Stars officially revealed!

Pokemon Brilliant Stars

The Pokemon Company has announced the latest English Pokemon TCG set, Brilliant Stars, containing a new VSTAR mechanic in a post on their official website.

Brilliant Stars will contain the first Pokemon VSTAR cards including Arceus and Charizard and releases worldwide on February 25th 2022.

The Official Pokemon TCG website states:

Overflowing with light, Arceus VSTAR descends from on high to share its celestial powers with other Pokémon V. Discover glimmering constellations and start your journey toward stellar greatness in the Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars expansion!

  • Over 170 cards
  • 4 brand-new Pokémon VSTAR
  • 20 powerful Pokémon V and 3 enormous Pokémon VMAX
  • 30 cards with special art in the Trainer Gallery subset
  • More than 20 Trainer cards and a new Special Energy card

The mention of a “Trainer Gallery Subset” is most probably referring to the secret character rares from Japan’s upcoming VMAX Climax expansion releasing on December 3rd. This will include notable cards like Pikachu VMAX with Red.

The official website also shows some of the first Brilliant Stars products including Leafeon VSTAR and Glaceon VSTAR collection boxes. Each of these special collections includes a promo card featuring Leafeon V or Glaceon V, a promo card and oversize card featuring Leafeon VSTAR or Glaceon VSTAR, a VSTAR marker, and Pokémon TCG booster packs. We can expect more announcements as we get closer to February 25th!
