A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that a new set was coming to the Pokemon TCG, known only as SWSH12. This set will follow the Lost Origin booster, which will release on September 9th and will feature some fantastic cards from May’s Dark Phantasma set and July’s Lost Abyss set that was released in Japan. After a ban list for the World Championships was recently circulated among Japanese players, cards belonging to the Pokemon TCG Lost Origin set were revealed, as well as the code-named ‘SWSH12’, which we now know will be called Silver Tempest.
Prereleases for Silver Tempest will take place between October 29th and November 6th, with it officially releasing on November 11th. This set will be made up of cards from the Japanese sets Incandescent Arcana and Paradigm Trigger.

We know that Alolan Vulpix will be the mascot of Incandescent Arcana, which has a Winter feel. This could be the overarching theme of the Silver Tempest set; ‘silver’ possibly referring to snow and ‘tempest’ being the name for a strong storm. Silver could also refer to the colour of certain Pokemon included in this set, such as the Radiant Jirachi, Reshiram V, Klinklang and the rumoured appearance of Lugia.
SWSH12: Silver Tempest will be the final SWSH set before we move into the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet era of the TCG, which will release in February 2022. To learn more about the upcoming Lost Origin English set, the Scarlet & Violet video games and other upcoming products, check out the links below –
