A ban list that was sent to World Championships players in Japan has inadvertently revealed the plans for a new English set code-named SWSH12.5. This set will be a combination of cards and promos that were never included in English sets, providing a fantastic way to catch up as the Sword and Shield draws to an end, and Scarlet & Violet kicks off.
The ban list shared cards that couldn’t be played during the event but also added the set name of the English equivalent, with some of them labelled ‘SWSH12.5’. The reason for this is that the World Championships include players from around the globe, so certain Japanese cards can’t be played due to them not being in the English game yet. The ban list revealing SWSH12.5 cards also provided a partial setlist for the upcoming Lost Origin set, which will be the English equivalent to the Lost Abyss set that was released in Japan last week (July 15th).
Some cards in the SWSH12 set will have already been released within the English version of the game by the time this special set releases, while several others will have their English debut.
Black Star Promos –
SWSH12.5 is expected in early 2023 . Will we be seeing more of these kinds of ‘make up’ sets in the future? Maybe they will go back and release cards and promos from the previous series that didn’t get an English release like the Sun & Moon era?
