This time, the focus Pokemon is Gardevoir, who can be seen standing on the water in the tranquil scene. The Online Illustration Exhibition, taking place between August 10th and October 22nd, lets fans get a closer look at the artwork of their favourite cards. You can also get to learn more about the art of the Pokemon TCG, with 50 artists commenting on their pieces and sharing the inspiration behind them.

The exhibition is broken down into three distinct themes – Life, History, and Artist. ‘Life’ looks into the habitats and routines of different Pokemon depicted in card art. ‘History’ delves into the past and covers events spanning the last 25 years, and ‘Artist’ shares the thoughts of the Pokemon TCG’s most popular artists, including Megumi Mizutani, Akira Egawa, and many others. The first artwork created by Takumi Wada for the Online Illustration Exhibition focused on the legendary Zacian, that was the mascot legendary for the Pokemon Sword video game. Takumi hadn’t illustrated for Pokemon prior to this but does have an extensive history with Nintendo, working on titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild, as well as Mario Kart 7 and 8. Takumi Wada will illustrate one more card for the Online Exhibition, which will debut on September 22nd.
