The most valuable cards from each Digimon Card Game sets

When it comes to valuable cards in the Digimon TCG, tournament prizes like the Premier TO WarGreymon and the Evolution Cup Omnimon may come to mind. Although these cards are impressive, already reaching three-figure values, they have inadvertently shadowed some of the rarest cards that can be pulled from booster packs.

Special Release Booster 1.0 & 1.5 

Special Booster 1.0 and 1.5 were the first official English Digimon TCG sets, which were released in January and March 2021. The most valuable card of the Special Release Booster, which came within the first part of the set, is the Omnimon alternate art. This was the first big chase card of the Digimon TCG and held the title of the most valuable card in the game until the tournament cards came along.

Great Legend 

The most valuable cards from the Great Legend booster set are two of the connecting art SECs, Lucemon and AncientGreymon alt arts, all illustrated by renowned artist Naochika Morishita, who has worked on several Digimon artworks throughout his career. Currently, the third most valuable card is standard AncientGreymon, sadly overshadowing AncientGarurumon.

Battle of Omni

Bandai wasn’t kidding when they named the set ‘Battle of Omni’, injecting 12 different Omnimon cards into Digimon TCG, including the alternate arts. As you may expect, the most valuable of these cards are the Omnimon SECs. The most valuable card of this set is the alt art Omnimon Zwart Defeat, the standard version of that SEC and the Omnimon X Anti-body that references the popular Hyper Colosseum card game from the late 90s.

Double Diamond 

The Double Diamond booster set was released on October 15th in Europe although many regions didn’t get the set until December. To celebrate the 1st anniversary of the Digimon TCG, Bandai included Omnimon ‘Ghost’, which is still arguably the rarest and most valuable booster card in the English version of the game.

Classic Collection 

Last winter, the first EX set was released. The Classic Collection paid homage to the Digi-Battle and Hyper Colosseum from the 90s, borrowing artwork and card layout of those previous games. The most valuable card that can be pulled from this set is the alt art Analog Youth card, followed by alt art Machinedramon.

Next Adventure 

The Next Adventure booster was released on March 4th and is themed around the Digimon Digimon Frontier series. Although it is the Lucemon: Chaos Mode SEC that holds the most value, the alt art Dorumon has managed to creep up to 2nd place within the Next Adventure market.

New Awakening

New Awakening, known as New Hero in Japan, was released in May for the English game. This set focuses on the Digimon Adventure 02 anime series and introduced new Keyword Effects and Tamers, as well as the Armor Digivolution and DNA Digivolution forms. This set saw the debut of the demonic-looking Creepymon and the majestic Imperialdramon Paladin Mode.

Digital Hazard

The second EX set of the Digimon Card Game was Digital Hazard. This set was different to EX01, which paid homage to the iconic Hyper Colosseum card game, and instead focused on the Digimon Tamers series. Each English booster box came with a box topper that was either an alt art Imperialdramon Dragon Mode or Mastemon.

X Record

The latest set in the English version of the Digimon Card Game is the X-Record booster, focusing on the incredibly powerful X-Antibody Digimon that has appeared in several movies and manga, including Digital Monster X-Evolution, Digimon Chronicle, Digimon Chronicle X and Digimon D-Cyber.
