The Pokémon Company have announced remakes of generation 4 in the form of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl for Nintendo Switch during their Pokémon 25th Anniversary Pokémon Presents presentation.
We had reported the chances of remakes earlier this week.
The game is in a differing art style as it is being developed by video game company ILCA, who worked on games such as Dragon Quest XI and NieR: Automata.
The reason for ILCA’s involvement in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is due to Game Freak working on an open-world Pokémon game set in the Sinnoh region due for release in 2022.
Pokémon fans around the world have been waiting for an open world game building on the Wild area from Pokémon Sword & Shield and now this looks like it is finally coming to fruition.
Pokemon Legends Arceus will release early 2022
During the pokemon 25 live event streamed on YouTube, Pokemon announced a brand new adventure called ‘Pokemon Legends’, where a player will step back in time to explore the Sinnoh region of old.
In this open-world adventure, which looks to be an expanse on the ‘Wild’ feature of Pokemon: Sword and Shield, will see players team up with Rowlet, Cyndaquil and Oshawott. The game’s focus objective will be to complete the first-ever PokeDex for a mysterious professor travelling the land.
The game will be released in early 2022.
What could these returns to Sinnoh mean for Pokémon TCG?
