The DBS CG has been going from strength to strength this year, releasing several sets and products despite being hit with delays brought on by the pandemic. Now, with the beginning of 2022 just on the horizon, Bandai has shared several updates about the release dates of their latest products.
Mythic Booster –
The DBS CG Mythic Booster is the first of its kind for the TCG, which is made up of core card reprints with a whopping 63 unique alternate art designs to collect. The Mythic Booster is designed to allow newer players to catch up with collecting out of print deck staples as well as offer long time fans of the Dragon Ball Super CG fresh alternatives to their favourite cards.
This set was initially scheduled for a December release date, but following the delays, has been pushed back in some regions. Release dates have been confusing, to say the least, with parts of Europe and Oceania still waiting to get their hands on the set, despite the Bandai website stating a December 3rd and December 10th release date. What we do know, however, is that North America will be waiting until January 14th, according to the latest update from Bandai.

Gift Collection –
This year, a new Gift Collection will be released for the DBS CG. This set includes a PVC deck box with exclusive artwork on it. It also comes with a set of 65 deck protector sleeves with the split design of Gogeta and Vegito. For the first time, a clear sleeve will be included in the Gift Collection for your Leader card, which is a really nice touch for players. The set will also have two booster packs of the upcoming reprint set, the Mythic Booster.
The Gift Collection will be available from December 17th in North America, while Europe and Oceania are stated to have already been released, despite the lack of stock in stores. Walmart, Target and GameStop will have the Gift Collection in North America stores, while large chains, including Smyths and Waterstones, will begin stocking this product in

Unison Warrior Series BOOST Set 07 –
Not much is known about the upcoming booster set that will follow after the Mythic Booster, but what we do know is that it will have a worldwide pre-release on February 25th, with an official release on March 4th. This set will have 292 card types in total – 60 Commons, 38 Uncommons, 30 Rares, 18 Super Rares, 14 Special Rares, 3 Secret Rares and a special alternate art Campaign Rare. The SR/SPR random box topper will return in this latest booster, with a teaser being shared that a long-awaited Dragon Ball Heroes character, believed to be the Grand Minister, will make their debut. It seems that Bandai intends on returning to having their sets release worldwide on the same day, but with the delays brought on by the pandemic, that could change.
2021 has seen a number of delays within the DBS CG, but hopefully, things will return to more consistent, and less staggered, product releases. It will also be interesting to see how many more Unison Warrior Series sets are left to release and what next big mechanic is in store for the TCG.
