VSTAR Pokemon TCG mechanic revealed!

The newest Pokemon TCG game mechanic has been announced by The Pokemon Company International. VSTAR Pokemon cards with a VSTAR Power move!

The new mechanic was revealed via a half art style Arceus VSTAR card in celebration of 19th October 2021 which is the 25th Anniversary of the original release of Pokemon TCG in Japan.

Pokemon VSTAR

The game mechanic will act similar to Pokemon VMAX and needs to replace a Pokemon V in play. The VSTAR Power move will act similarly to GX Attacks from Sun & Moon, incredibly powerful but single use.

Arceus VSTAR – Colorless – HP280
VSTAR – Evolves from Arceus V

[C][C][C] Trinity Nova: 200 damage. Search your deck for up to 3 basic Energy cards and attach them to your Pokemon V in any way you like. Then, shuffle your deck.

Ability (VSTAR Power): Starbirth
During your turn, you may search your deck for up to 2 cards and put them into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck. (You can’t use more than 1 V Star Power in a game.)

When your Pokemon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2
