World Championship 2021 – Omnimon framed prize card

The penultimate event of the competitive season has been announced and will take place in March. This invite-only event will bring the best players from all around the world together to fight for the title of the World Championship 1st place winner. First introduced with the Championship Finals, more framed prize cards will be awarded to the top players. As these are World Championship cards, it is likely that these cards will become the most valuable in the entire TCG.

The World Championship 2021 will be an online event with live commentary broadcast on Twitch. Players will get to utilise Bandai’s new simulator that was first announced last year at the Large Tamer Exchange Party in Japan and was shown off during this year’s Digimon Con

The Qualifying Matches will begin on March 26th with the Finals taking place on March 27th, with games being a Best-of-3 format. Currently, event times have not been posted on the event page, although they are expected to be shared soon as the World Championship 2021 takes place this weekend.

Prizes –

Those participating will receive the Worlds Omnimon Alter-S card and the Worlds Omnimon and Shoutmon DX Playmat. This card and play mat will have the ‘World Championship 2021’ stamps on them, which will make them incredibly sought after by collectors.

The 3rd and 4th place winners will receive the MetalGreymon and WarGreymon framed trophy cards that were first awarded at the Championship Finals that took place in January. The overall winner of the event will receive the brand new Omnimon framed card and a trophy that is yet to be revealed by Bandai.

What is really nice about these prize cards is that the circuit board backgrounds have returned, which were first seen in the Special Release Booster 1.0 Dash Packs when the game was initially released. These prize cards have a metallic appearance with foiling that will add to the effect. These cards will become some of the most valuable cards in the entire Digimon Card Game and will no doubt become grail cards for collectors in the future.

It will be interesting to see what decks come out on top during the World Championship 2021 and which players will earn the title of World Champion. If you would like to keep up to date with all the latest Digimon Card Game news, make sure you follow Ludkins Media on Instagram and Facebook.
